Hi, great question! I think it is first important to note that there is no specific number of resumes you should send out in a day, and this answer can vary depending on a multitude of circumstances. However, what is important is that you do NOT want to send out the same exact resume to 20+ jobs in a day. By doing this you are doing yourself an extreme disservice. In the job search, quality over quantity is HUGE. For each job posting, you want to ensure that your resume and cover letter are specifically tailored to the position and what the company is specifically looking for. This means studying the job ad, identifying the top skills t are asking for, and adjusting your resume accordingly to be heavily targeted. The best way to do this to create one master resume filled with all of your accomplishments, skills, experiences, etc. Then for each job posting, you can cut down this master resume and tailor it to the specific job. For example, you may want to interchange and rearrange your skills in order of importance as well as rewrite the summary of qualification to emphasize your strengths that will directly add value to the company you are applying for. By spending an extra 15–30 minutes targeting your resume you are greatly increasing your chances of moving to the next round as both the ATS (applicant tracking system) and a recruiter will be able to clearly see how you match up to their business needs. So instead of trying to rush and send out as many resumes as you can, take your time and be strategic in your job search. And remember quality over quantity!
